Preview of Cracked

Aura is looking out. The African woman is still down there. She is picked up by a car, but is quickly back on the street again. Then a guy with a crew-cut comes up to her, gesturing threatening at her until she gives him a wad of dollar bills.

On that same evening, Aura takes the journey through the cracks. She arrives at The Slave Trader’s Palace with her sword held high. The first soldier doesn’t even have time to draw his weapon before his head hits the ground and his body is left lifeless behind. The 999 other soldiers turn to face her, and Aura smiles while a drop of blood falls from the edge of her sword. On her headset she calls the B-52 in which her friends are ready with the bombs.

The next morning the African woman is a free human being in a free world. Aura awakes screaming. In the nightmare her parents don’t remember her name.

In Cracked you solve real world problems  by fighting fantastic battles in worlds on the other side of the cracks. You will play in a vast variety of settings and genres. As the characters ventures further into other realities, they will become more and more distanced from their normal lives. Their most precious memories could be lost in the battle against injustice and evil.

In Cracked, the story isn’t created before you play, but during play. A fixed setting and creative restrains will help you set scenes and create a shared story. But sometimes the rules will decitate which scenes will be played out.

Game time: About four hours.

Number of players: One game master, and three to five players.

Player type: You like that the story is in focus, you want to help make the scenes awesome, and you can change between over-the-top action and gloomy decay.

Game master type: You want to inspire and encourage the players to make awesome stories. You possess the broad overview, you share the spotlight, and you are happy to leave the players with the minor characters and the descriptions of the scenes.

Briefly about the writer: During the day Asbjørn Olsen lives in Albertslund and eats garbage. During the night he is a superhero who cures cancer and fights Nazis.

  1. Cool.
